Welcome to CannaCollege!

The way that Cannabis interacts with our bodies is extremely interesting and unique. Within our nervous systems exists a series of Endocannabinoid receptors that form a complex system that is responsible for processing the chemicals within the Cannabis plant when we ingest it. Our bodies have a built in system used expressly for processing Cannabis!  The compounds within the plant are known as Cannabinoids, and different kinds of compounds affect the body in different ways. Two major components of Cannabis are the Cannabinoids Tetrahydrocannabinol and Cannabidiol, known as THC and CBD respectively.

THC is the most popular compound within Cannabis because of it’s psychoactive properties that are responsible for getting you “high.” The way the media has vilified this compound without understanding the benefits of it is astounding because the effects of THC go way past recreational. Studies have shown that THC is effective in relieving pain, easing nausea and vomiting, treating PTSD, increasing appetite and so much more. In addition, the medicinal benefits of CBD include anxiety relief, anti-seizure, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and even fights cancer. These two compounds exemplify the uncharted healing abilities of the Cannabis plant; Chef Marvin is on an adventure to tap into Cannabis’ well of healing: are you with us?
